Turning off in Microsoft Windows, is a little more involved.
Pushing the on/off button briefly, will work if properly set up to do so.
Otherwise go via the 'Start' icon on the bottom left of the screen.
Removing power suddenly (or by holding the on/off button) is not recommended. The computer will complain the next time you switch on.
