Creating websites using PHP is very simple. PHP is a server-side scripting language that processes what are known as PHP scripts then returns the output of the script. PHP is very much like C in how it works with functions and variables, although it does not require a main() function and so on. PHP doesn't provide formatting or anything for the pages it creates; you must provide all page content, from the DOCTYPE at the top of the page to the closing tag. Once PHP is installed on your server or computer, create a simple PHP script such as the following:

Note that viewing the source will not show , , etc tags... you will need to add these in on your own. There are many resources available for PHP, and if you choose to learn and work with PHP, php.net is going to be your best friend. If, for example, you forgot how to use the print command, going to php.net/print would show you the syntax for the same. I've been using PHP for a few months now and still use the php.net reference. Overall, PHP is a great, flexible language and is pretty easy to learn, especially if you've used a "C-like" language (such as JavaScript) before. Despite being all it is, however, I do need to make mention of other "web languages" out there such as Perl and Python - do look into these before considering PHP. Perl seems to be an interesting language which I'll personally be looking into.

They use web developer languages like: Microsoft Web Developer 2008/2010, Microsoft Visual Studio 2008/2010, Adobe Dreamwaver CS1-CS5, PHP, Microsoft Frontpage, Adobe Flash and other languages. You can even use Notepad (if you are familiar with html tags & codes).
