There's only one axle...not a left and right. Buy a Honda service manual before you tare it up.
Jack the car up, loosen the bolts and remove the wheel. The next thing is to loosen the nuts joining the axle to the stath then remove the axle.
First, remove the 8 bolts on the end of the axle (tire end). Next, use a special socket with 4 teeth that fit into the ratcheting nut and remove. The left side is reverse thread! The axle will now slide out easily. Be careful not to damage the rubber o-ring seal around the axle end itself.
Jack up the rear of the quad (put a milk crate under it). Remove both wheels. Remove the chain. Apply the rear brake and loosen the nuts on the axle (right side). Remove the brake caliper & bracket. Remove the circlip, nuts and rotor. Slide the axle through the bearing carrier, from right to left (towards the chain and sprocket side
Left hand side below the seat. Remove the plastic panel to access the battery.
You start by taking the wheels off and then take apart the right side. Everything pulls out to the left. Check out my bio page for help.
It's better to replace axle
I guess the boot is cut or broken.
Get a size 32 nut Raise and support the vehicle. Remove the wheel nearest the axle to be replaced. Separate the lover ball joint and outer tie rod end stud from the spindle. Remove the axle nut from the hub. Separate the strut from the lower control arm. Pry the lower condrol downward. Turn (steer) the spindle right if working on the left side or left if working on the right side and pull it away from the car while pushing the axle inward and out of the hub. Pull, with force if needed, the axle out of the transaxle. While pushing the lower control arm downward, maneuver the axle out of the vehicle. Reverse this procedure to install the replacement drive axle. Answer may vary depending on what type of Honda you own
Remove the left tire, remove the two hex nuts near rear sprockets, remove the left hub, take off the sprocket along with the two hex nuts, put the left hub back onto the axle and take a socket and tap the hub. The axle should come out on the right...if it don't email me and tell me how to get it off cause that's where I am stuck right now.

plug is on the left front of axle housing. take a 3/8 drive to remove
If it's anything like removing the alternator on a 99 Civic than it's better left to a repair shop, unless you know a thing or two about fixing cars. You have to remove the bushings on the control arm, partially remove the drive axle and than drop the alternator down. It's the only way to get it out. Get to know someone at a Honda or Acura Service Center so you can get it done for a lot less money.
