The first step in removing the window washer fluid reservoir in a Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck is draining the radiator. Next you will remove the upper hose for better access to the reservoir. Detach the hose and remove the wire harness surrounding the reservoir. Lastly, release the mounting tabs and pull upward on the reservoir.
There is no separate washer fluid reservoir for the rear washer. It all works out of the front reservoir.
It is possible because it is out of fluid. A differant reservoir is used for the rear window washer. The reservoir is located just above the drivers side rear tailight when you have the hatch open.
You fill the reservoir under the hood.
The windshield washer pump is attached to the washer fluid reservoir. You will find 2 pumps attached to the reservoir. The other pump feeds the rear window. The reservoir can be unbolted and removed from the engine compartment.

Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.Drain the engine cooling system enough to remove the upper hose from the radiator.Unplug the wire harness connectors from the washer pump and, if the vehicle is so equipped, the washer fluid level sensor.Washer Reservoir And Pump Remove/Install While pulling the reservoir away from the fan shroud, lift the reservoir upwards far enough to disengage the reservoir mounting tabs from the upper and lower mounting slots in the fan shroud. You may need to pry the bottom away from the shroud LIGHTLY with a pry bar or a couple of flat screwdrivers.Remove the washer supply hose from the washer pump and put your finger over the outlet to stop the fluid leaking out. Remove the reservoir from the vehicle. Drain the washer fluid from the reservoir into a clean container for reuse.Reverse the removal procedures to install.
