The service information says to use Miller special tool 8186. I always replace the hydraulic tensioner when I am working on a 2.7L.
A special tool is required. The tool depresses the check ball in the end of the tensioner so that it can be compressed and locked.
primary tensioner either needs adjustment or replacement
It is not timed correctly.
In this case I would say no. It did not bend the valves.
Yes, it is has a very important job. It is the primary chain tensioner adjusting nut. The stud is attached to a nylon chain guide and cannot be removed without disassembly.
of course. BDL, but they don't sell it with all belts. Some applications are designed to run without an idler/adjuster. BDL can be accessed on line or through your local retailer.
When the car is started, voltage is sent from the battery to the solenoid. The pull-in coil is capable of drawing a lot of current and generating a large magnetic field, and is the primary drain on the battery. This creates the magnetic force that draws the plunger into the core and completes the circuit between the terminals of the battery. The movement of the plunger causes the starter's drive gear to move into mesh with the flywheel ring gear. This is what causes the motor to turn. The hold-in coil generates a much weaker magnetic field and holds the plunger in place. This saves battery power and reserves most of the battery's life for starting the car.
the 2.7l is an interference engine,if the primary chain breaks or jumps the pistons will hit the valves. it has a chain, not a belt(actually 3 chains)1 primary and 2 secondary chains 1 on each head to run the dohc's, the primary chain is usually the problem along with the primary tensioner going out,and on top of that the water pump running off the primary chain. when the water pump goes out (bearing or seal) all the antifreeze goes in the oil,and can cause more problems.
Trouble code P2314 means: Ignition coil E, secondary circuit - malfunction Trouble code P2315 means: Ignition coil F, primary circuit - circuit low
There is NO Timing belt...- has one primary and two secondary chains. If chain broke possible to bent one or more intake valves, if slips- all intake valves need to be replaced... Good luck. G.
If it has the 3.2 or 3.5 engines, it will have a timing belt. The 2.7 engine has 3 timing chains: one primary, driving the water pump and the two intake cams, plus two secondaries each driving one bank's exhaust cam off the intake cam.
