You add the coolant to the reservoir tank located on the passenger side of the engine bay. Run the engine a little. Top off as necessary. If the car's a North American model, the resevior tank is located on the drivers side of the engine bay.
There is a release screw on the radiator. Get a container to catch the coolant. Place the container under the release plug and unscrew the plug.
It is a small plastic tool that can be found beside the radiator return hose, to the left of the blinker coolant line.
Proprietary Coolant available only from VW repair shops. Never, never use any other type of coolant as it will turn the radiator fluid into jelly and not work. In an emergency, you can add Distilled Water to get to the repair shop. Never, never, never use tap water under any circumstances.
Look in your owners manual or call a VW dealer.
well, for all those fellow enthusist of vw welcome to the automotive world these vw vehicles are very simple and complex enjoy it and do routine maintnance and your car will take you along way. but to change the coolant on a 1998-99 vw jetta pull the hose on the bottom of the radiator the hose is most likely on the passenger side of the radiator. good luck. dont worry about the coolant you use, the vw dealer would charge you $ jus to change it when it only takes like half an hour 149 in doesnt really matter but do a 50/50 mix with the water and coolant.
Coolant for a 2006 VW Bettle is put into the coolant overflow tank. As it is needed, the radiator will automatically pull in additional coolant.
G12 you can get it at your vw dealership
never heard of a radiator cord - is that something you pull to get it started ??
