Open your iTunes software on your computer and then select the song you want to add to your iPod.
Now you have to click on the top button in the iTunes window, where you see the 'Library' and the 'Shared.
You will see an option 'Add file to library' at this point.
Select it and then choose your iPod. Once you have done this a box will open where you can choose where you want to add the song.
You can either buy it, download it, or upload it onto your computer.
if you have a Macintosh: use the name of your old ipod on your new ipod.
You must have itunes installed on your computer to add music to your iPod Touch.

First off, any music you want on your ipod, add it into your itunes. [ie the hard copy of music you have?] Then either manually re-add the stuff on or sync the itunes library [or your selected music] with your ipod. Hope that helps!
I'm almost positive you can only put songs onto the iPod from your library. There is software to "rip" the music from your iPod to a computer. It costs $ but works, you have a backup now of the music on the iPod.
Set your iPod to manual mode.
Add the Limewire songs to your iTunes library and sync your iPod.
install itunes if its not already installed, plug in the ipod, and athourize the computer with your ipod.
