Oil loss from an axle seal is probably trivial as far as the oil level (in the chaincase, filled by removing the access panel where the foot parking brake linkage goes in) goes but signifies failure of the axle seal and IMMINENT failure of the bearings, which is a big, pricey, pain of a repair. If you have late (2 piece) style axle/hubs, you can replace the seal only easily and inspect the outer bearing (don't need the genuine Bobcat seal, take the seal to a good bearing place and they can cross it to a CR (Chicago Rawhide) part that is slightly narrower but available from any NAPA for $6 or so) by loosening the large hub bolt and using a GOOD puller to pull the hub. If early 1 piece axle/hubs, you are in for a real pain of a repair, but if you let it go, you will regret it to the tune of $1000s in parts. And if 1 is leaking, they all need replaced and the chaincase oil changed.

That depends on which model you're talking about - Bobcat makes several.
