Get a LONG, skinny funnel, the aporpaite fluid type, and reach in (while the engine is cool) towards the right side of the engine, next to the battery. There is the transmission tank. There is no dipstick, be aware.
Yes, I found the red cap and looked in. I saw no fluid. I put two quarts and now see a little "spurting". Does the transmission take 5 quarts?
7 quarts if just a fluid change.
Use Dexron-VI.
how do you check transmission leval on a 03 Chevy impala

You can add atf but you won't know how much to add or when it is full. This needs to be done on a lift in a garage by a mechanic.
Every three years or 50,000 miles.
The 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe transmission has a capacity of 12 quarts of transmission fluid. The manufacturer recommends that you never overfill the transmission.

9 liters
The 2002 Chevy Cavalier has a sealed transmission. On the front of the transmission there is a 11mm bolt that sticks out from the side. Loosen it, if ATF comes out, it's full, if not, take that cap back off and add some more until it comes out of the check plug (it's very easy to miss! look carefully, driver side, 11mm bolt protruding from side)
