The only way I know for most autos is to obtain a tall-slender funnel(built for adding trans. fluid) and add the fluid directly to the dipstick tube...BB
what transmission will fit in a 3 speed 1990 geo prizm
75-90 weight gear oil
where do you add manuel transmission fluid on a 1991 geo storm 5 speed
In my 1995 Prizm, just pop the hood, and the washer fluid tank was to the upper right. Pop the top on it, and fill to 'full' line.
just enought to make it say "full" on the dip stick :)
If your Geo Prizm is stuck in park and will not shift, the transmission is locked up. It will need to be serviced.
If you're just draining and filling, 2 to 3 quarts are removed draining the trans. Add two, then drive the car and check the level. I
The fluid could be too low to allow the transmission to shift. Depending on where the fluid leak is, the leak could be through a bad solenoid or soaking electrical connections, stopping the transmission from shifting.
I need to know the same thing but for those who tag it as adding transmission fluid, you're wrong. The automatic has a separate differential with its own fluid.
You may need to add some power steering fluid to the steering reseviour.
For all automatic transmissions you add fluid through the dipstick tube.
It is bolted to the firewall behind the transmission.
