How do you add your new question to your Watchlist and how do you know if the question has been answered?

=== === In the answer box, directly below any answer that has been entered in any question are three large style buttons. From left to right there is one green box and two blue boxes. Selecting the "Watch Question" button will add that question to your Watchlist. If this blue button is displaying "UnWatch Question" this is an indication that this question has been added to your Watchlist.
Also, in the blue box area to the left of your screen is the link entitled "My settings" which is towards the bottom of the blue box under the heading of "My pages".
Selecting the "My settings" link will take you to a new page. Here under the heading "email updates" checking the second option will have WikiAnswers notify you by email of any changes to questions that are in your watchlist.
On this same page under the heading of "Answering options" having the second option clicked on will Add pages you edit to your Watchlist automatically.
You will receive these Email updates at the Email you signed up with when you created your WikiAnswers account unless you have since changed the email address which is shown towards the top of your "My settings" page.

How do you know if someone has answered your question how will you be notified?
If you asked the question while you were logged in, you will be notified by e-mail that your question has been answered. When you ask a question, it is automatically placed in your watchlist. If you ask a question and it's already on Answers.com, but isn't answered, you can follow that question by clicking "Follow" in the blue column to the left of the question. Any question that you're following gets added to your watchlist, and you receive an e-mail about when it is answered or updated.
How do you answer a question you don't know?
If you are having a conversation with someone and they ask a question you don't know the answer to, just tell them you don't know the answer. You could suggest someone who might know the answer or go look for the answer in reference materials. If you are asking about Answers.com and WikiAnswer.com, you should just leave the question blank. That way someone who does know the answer will be more likely to see the question and answer it. If you want to know when the question has been answered, you can add it to your Watchlist.

Why do you have to join to know when your question is answered?
If you are not signed in, it is impossible to alert you as to when your question has been answered - multiple people can contribute from your IP Address.
If WikiAnswers doesn't know the answer why do you have the question posted?
Because you can't answer a question that has never been asked. Ideally, there there should only be two kinds of questions on WikiAnswers - those that have been answered, and those that will be answered. When a contributor comes across a question that hasn't been answered, and they know (or think they know) the answer, they will put it in. That is how the collection of questions and answers grows.
How will you know if the questions you posted have already been answered?
If you have the box under My Settings checked to have WikiAnswers automatically e-mail you when your questions are answered, it will send an email to you when it has been answered. Then you can read the answer. If you chose the option 'watch question' when you asked the question, it will show up in 'My Watchlist' when there any changes have been made to that Q&A, one of which may be the answer. You need to make an account or log-in before you receive email notifications, Otherwise, you can just bookmark your question's page and check it later to see if anyone answered it. When asking a question, and it already exists on WikiAnswers, the website will either automatically direct you to the question page (if you worded it exactly) or it will direct you to 5 suggestions, one of which may be the same as your question (but worded differently). If your question doesn't exist at all (in any wording), you can add it, as you have been doing.

Click on watch on the tool bar to the left and when the question is answered you Will get a message.

Why does WikiAnswers not alert you when your question has been answered?
WikiAnswers does alert you when a question you asked has been answered. At the home page and on question pages, the bell used for notifications at the top-right of the page will have a red notification box to let you know about questions you've asked that have been answered.
