I am not familiar with the dixon but I have several zero turn units and they all adjust the same.

The two handles are connected to hydraulic units and the length of the linkage determines whether the unit stops at neutral. The main problem with these is that the operator uses brute force on the handles as if they were steering the thing manually or as if pushing or pulling harder will make the unit turn better when all it takes is the lightest touch.

Jack up the unit, bypass the interlock and watch the wheels, adjust the linkage on the handle either shorter or longer depending on whether the wheels turn forward or reverse until they are both stopped.

There should also be some handle adjustment so that they can both return to the same position and you will have the same travel forward and back for both.

How do you adjust brakes on a mtd bolens mower?

Most of the MTD/Bolens riding mowers have the brake adjustment on the transaxle, right side toward the front. You will need a 1/2" wrench. With the mower in neutral, tighten the nut a 1/4 turn at a time while you try to roll the mower back and forth. Once there is some resistance when you try to roll it, stop and back it off a 1/4 turn and you should be ready to go.
