If the truck has disk brakes in the back then you have to adjust the emergency brake cable underneath the vehicle by loosening the outer lock nut then tightening the adjuster nut and then you re-tighten the outer lock nut down to the adjuster nut.

How do you adjust the rear brakes on a Dodge Grand Caravan?

The rear brakes of the Caravan are adjusted automatically. Each time you set the emergency brake slack will be taken up. You can speed up this readjustment while parked, engine off, by "pumping" the emergency brake while pulling out the brake release. Adjustment may take some time as the slack takeup is small with each use of the emergency brake. A good habit is to use the emergency brake at least twice a day to avoid a low parking brake pedal.

How do you change the emergency brake pads on a 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan?

The brake pads are actually shoes. The emergency brake relies on the rear brake shoes being applied by tension on the emergency brake cable against the rear drums to hold the car stationary. In other words, the rear brakes double as the emergency (parking) brakes.

How do you fix your parking brake if it is stuck on a 2000 dodge caravan?

Parking brakes are all operated by a cable, which you tighten by pulling the lever. If the car has discs brakes all around, the problem is almost always that the cable is rusted in the sheath. If the car has rear drum brakes, the problem can also be a jammed lever inside the drum.

Adjust Dodge truck brakes?

adjust isn't really the right word here. if the pedal is soft and the brakes suck, and you have to push it real hard to get any reaction out of the thing, pushing harder may not be the solution. Check the brake fluid reservoir , make sure its full. regardless if it is or not you should bleed the brakes , and you may need new pads. if the brake fluid is real empty you must bleed the brakes.
