Idle speed is computer controlled and is not adjustable. Is the speed is incorrect, you have a malfunction with the idle airflow control motor, another sensor, or the computer could need reset. A weak battery can cause the computer to "forget" how to idle. Unhooking the battery for five minutes resets that.

∙ 9y agoYou don't. The ECM controls the idle speed. You have other problems causing the idle problem. Also, if the check engine light is illuminated, check for codes.
