How do you adjust parking brake on 2004 chev 2500 series 4x4
You dont
You have to take off the caliper and rotor and adjust the brake with a flat head screwdriver
if your van has rear drum brakes, adjust them up until there is a slight drag on the brakes. this usually does the trick to tighten up the parking brake.
there will be an adjuster under the left rocker where the cable spilts into two
There's an access window on the backing plate that's cover with a rubber plug.
# To gain access to the parking brake adjuster raise the rear and support the truck # Remove the rubber plug from the brake backing plate and using a screwdriver or brake adjusting tool turn the adjusting screw star wheel until the parking brake shoe start to drag as the disc is turned then back off the star wheel until the shoes dont drag
there is no adjustment as it as already as a pully that does that, unless yours is seized or stuck.
It is behind the disk brake rotor.
On a ( 2004 ) Ford Freestar : The passenger compartment fuse panel is below and to the left of the steering wheel , by the brake pedal ( it has a cover on it )
There is a lever above the parking break that you pull by hand.
Tighten it
