to adjust the rocker arms you have to either tighten or loosen the top bolt on the rocker arm/arms that need to be adjusted. there is a specified torque for the rocker arms that you should follow to help you adjust the them
00.19 bolts valve cold or hot wierd thats true am working un one now and 1955 f100 pickup 292
You don't. The nuts that hold down the rocker arms are torqued down to specs and that's it. There is no adjustment. If you have valve train noise you probably have worn valve train parts.
Rocker arm stud nut or bolt 17 to 23 foot lbs
twerk on the rocker arms
The valves can be adjusted on your 2.3 liter Ford engine. Valves that are noisy may be caused by a bad rocker arm.
Odd that I would come across your question since ironically i just finished replacing my rocker arms :D The answer is tighten the bolts to 17-22 ft lb
The 2.8 v6 produced up to around 1985 had solid lifters with adjustable rocker arms.
Rocker arms are under the valve covers.
The valve lash is not adjustable on that engine. The rocker arms are bolted down and torqued to specs. If you have valve clatter you have worn valve train parts.
get ready to have a not so well running car. its best to keep everything assigned to its cylinder
First you will need to check and see that you have sufficient oil pressure. Determine which side is making the noise and remove the valve cover. Start the engine and see if all the rocker arms are getting oil. look to see that the rocker arms have the same amount of travel up and down. You did not mention the engine size. The is no adjustment as these rocker tighten all the way down and are self adjusting.
