you dont they are self adjusting with the tentioner pully...
92 ford probes did'nt have twin cams
where is the tensioner of 2002 3.1 l Chevy Malibu to adjust so that i can remove the belt when replacing the alternator?
Automatic belt tensioner - if not enough pressure replace tensioner Belt has streched too big, and the Automatic belt tensioner is at its limit. The tentioner is how yo remove the belt, so you should feel its tention with your wrench.
To adjust the timing take off the timing cover, take off belt and then line up the marks on the timing gear. You will need a special tool to hold the gears if it is a DOHC(duel over head cam)
well if its out of a TBI Chevy Blazer, truck, suburban, Tahoe etc. then there is a tentioner for the trans throttle on the drivers side of the tbi unit. similar to a chainsaw you cant have it to tight or to loose. a little play is all, otherwise it will think you are giving it more, or less throttle than you actually are. any other kind of vehicles im not sure.
It might just be a little loose. Sometimes they stretch a little after they've run and warmed up. It's a simple process to tighten it up. If your vehicle has an automatic tensioning pulley you might have a bad spring that has weakened over time and doesn't give the proper tension. Otherwise just adjust the belt tension and everything will be fine.
Remove the Drivers wheel (Left front as viewed from the inside of the car) and then remove the inner fedner panel so you can see the belt from the wheel well. The tensioner puller is held in placed by the tensioning bolts and is clearly visible once the side covers are removed.
u can adjust the gear ratio of your car to improve its speed without touching its engine...but this trick depends on the road that you take... in any case, to really improve horse power and torque...replace the engine with a stronger one...or add up nitro - if you wish to.
The future tense of adjust is will adjust.
