Sometimes we can really like people for all the really wrong reasons. We might feel like its the best thing to do at the time but when it actually happens it might be completely the opposite to our fantasy of that person and you will not be happy with that. Unfortunately, we cant make people like us and to go out with someone you dont like is just really mean. Its always hard to hear people telling us this but once we do hear this, and understand it and apply it to our own lives, we will still feel bad for a short time but our wounds will begin to heal and we will feel better.

To discourage means when you bring somebody down by words or by any other means or when somebody brings you down. For ex. When someone "steps" on your dream and you feel discouraged and don't feel like living your dream anymore. Or a second example: You want to go to a talent show and somebody tells you "Don't do that because you are not good at it" then you feel discouraged and don't want to go to talent show anymore, because the person discouraged you. Discourage is basically the opposite of "courage".
