It really depends on how badly you need the job, and how badly you need the benefits. If it's an interview where there will be multiple interviews, it's generally better to do it the second interview. Otherwise, if they're important to you ask. You probably shouldn't over ask it as if it's the most important thing ever, but don't get the job until you're satisfied with the benefits. As an interviewer I would never worry if someone asked.

If you're really worried about it sometimes benefits information is available on the company website or will be provided to you voluntarily by the interviewer without you having to ask. If the benefits package is very important to you, try to do some research on your own to find out this information before you apply. Check the website or call Human Resources and ask your question anonymously.

To begin, an employer asking this specific question is pretty shallow. The question comes across as if they are doing you a favor by working for them. However, the question could possibly come up in an interview, so it's worth preparing a response. The best way to answer the question would be to make yourself shine. Focus on your experience, previous accomplishments and any awards (or nominations) you've received. Then, let your interviewer know what you plan to being to the table and how this flows into their organizational goals and objectives. Conclude your response with the fact that your employment is a win-win for everyone. Good luck and break a leg!

This is one of many questions that will fall under 'selling yourself', so sell yourself. Use generic terms - but often a brief explanation. Problem Solver - I saved my last company X amount of dollars by changing a few processes. Leader - I motivated the staff around me to recordbreaking sales Team Player - I managed a team that was #1. If you don't have examples, you can still use those terms - and apply them in any part in life applicable. School, family, church, etc. They are looking for personal attributes - not just job experience. Leader - I started the 1st ever bake sale for my church. When they ask a question such as why you over someone else. Take it very humble. stating that I'm sure others may bring wonderful traits to the table, and that what seperates you is x,y,z mentoned above.
