You cannot. They give 4 options only for the sort, Name, Size, Item Name, Date Modified. However, a simple work around is to access each of the icons and using "Rename" (right click mouse Icon and select "Rename". Then place 1 before the name of teh most used then repeat the process placing 2 before the name and the repeat on the next by adding 3 before the name etc tec. then right mouse click the screen and select sort by name - if you have numbered everything sequentially then it should sort top down

Don't know if you are talking about any specific application but to view desktop icons, right click on desktop go to 'view' and select/check (if unchecked) 'show desktop icons'.

Any icon on the desktop will stay on the desktop when you restart your computer. Upon windows shutdown, Windows saves all of your settings and preferences. So when you restart all of the icons, documents, pictures and everything else will stay right were it was.
