well to beat a world in Yoshi's Island DS you have to go level by level until you reach the final level of that world which for example, could be 1-8 (this level is a castle with a boss at the end) once you defeat the boss you move on to the next world.
Mr. Yoshi makes you do 3 challenges while dressed in odd costumes.
Challenge 1 is Baby Blocks. You must build a block tower that spells YOSHI, each of five blocks having a letter. The secret is that the first block (Y) cannot be used as the Y in Yoshi, because it is the only block that has the H. Use the arrows to rotate the first block to H, and you will find the Y you need by turning the (A) block.
Challenge 2 is the Egg Hatch. Crack open the egg open to get your Poptropican player out of the egg. Rapidly click as fast as you can to get yourself out before the timer runs out.
Challenge 3 is the Bowling Chase. Dressed as a bowling ball, you have to collide with all ten of the robot bowling pins running around the scene. Most will come down to the bottom eventually. Hit all ten before the timer runs out.
After you win the game, click the metal door behind you to return to Main Street, to call the plane.
Get them to chase you. Then bounce an egg at the wall and hit them. They will turn into stars.
Hurry and punch it either when it is not looking or before it covers its face.
For the water ghost You have to freeze the ghost with ice then you can capture it for the green one you just capture it like a regular ghost but watch out for the bananas!
the best way is to have your back onto them then wait for them to sneak up on you and then jump (B) and ground pound them (B then R)

There are four types of Yoshis in Super Mario World, each of them having a different colour and a special ability. The four types of Yoshis are listed below:Green: Green Yoshis don't have any particular special abilities.Red: Red Yoshis breathe fireballs when a Koopa shell is spat out of its mouth.Blue: Blue Yoshis sprout wings and fly when a Koopa shell is in its mouth.Yellow: Yellow Yoshis stomp on the ground when a Koopa shell is in its mouth. In addition, if a coloured Koopa shell is in a Yoshis mouth, the Yoshi will display the special ability depending on the colour of the shell. For example, if a blue shell enters a green Yoshi's mouth, the Yoshi can fly.Interestingly, if a Yoshi eats an invincible shell, it displays ALL of the aforementioned abilities.
one for each color green Yoshi is the captain
You have to fix the city's power supply. The mini-game is similar to the Steam Vent Game on Steamworks Island, except that you only rotate the conduits (pipes) to carry the power past the broken wires from one side of the board to the other. You win the ticket to Mr. Yoshi's Super Terrific Challenge.
