On the first part, you need to spin attack him.NOTE: you will take 2 hitpoints away from Mashtooth when you jump over him and do a Shooting Star. When he charges, jump over him and do a spin attack. To Dodge lightning, the tiny bolts that don't hurt you warn you where the big bolts are gonna be, so just go in an area where the small bolts aren't. Run as fast as you can when he tries to suck you up threw his nose, jump over or spin at the rocks that will hurt you. Now when you pass the first part of the boss, your on the part where he's big! You have to see where the small bolts are again to see where the big ones are and stay out of the warning areas. Try you're best to hit Mashtooth on the head, and when he shoots asteroids at you, DON'T just try to dodge him. You have to try to use your spin attack on the asteroids because they will hit Mashtooth and immediatly drop a whole hit point which speeds the boss up. After you beat part 2, that's not it. He shoots a huge asteroid at you twice, and you have to press Y real fast so you better have a quick thumb. If you get tired, take a few breaks by pressing pause, and before you resume, place your thumb back on the Y button so you're ready. I hope this helps, that's what I did. Glad to help. :)

∙ 14y agowell, there is three parts to beating mashtooth, first part you just fight him but watchout for lightning attack when you do four damage to him. second, he comes back more powerful and if you want to do damage to him when he is not throwing metors you have to do a starspin on his head three times. finally,he throws a big metor at you and you need to press y as fast as you can but once you deflect it he does it again to defect this you have to turn your ds or dsi and keep on sliding your finger across y. CONGATULATIONS! YOU BEAT THE GAME!

To defeat Mashtooth you have to fight him with Bunston's power Monstar. you will not win the first time but it will give you a second chance to fight him. but you will not be Monstar anymore.... instead you will just be starfy and try beating him before Mashtooth becomes surrounded by blue fire. When you are done with a that, Mashtooth will become stronger and more powerful. all you have to do is hit his face (his HUGE face) and avoid his lightning attacks.(the thin lightning doesn't do any harm but the THICK ones do). soon Mega Mashtooth will through astroids ( rocks ) and u have to use your star spin to deflect them and throw it back to him. at the end you have to push back starfys world that mashtooth sends you by pressing y rapidly...... and wait until you pass the level........... :) Then on da title screen starfy has sunglasses! :D X3

If you are talking about the last boss of the last stage in the 'main story' it is Mashtooth who is a space pirate and has two parts one harder than the other. If you mean the VERY last boss in stage 10 then it is Old Man Lobber who is much harder than Mashtooth.
