It's easy to block off the EGR valve. Just use the gasket on it as a template and cut a piece of thin metal (aluminum or sheet) that same size. Drill the appropriate holes in it to match the gasket for the bolts and place it in between the valve and the EGR tube. Of course this tells the ECM that there is INSUFFICIENT EGR flow and the MIL light may come on. If the sensor isn't disconnected at this point the computer will direct the EGR valve to be opened more and more. More than one trouble code could be set but they would ALL be emissions related. Driveability won't be adversely affected on the 2.3L. The only way to "block" off the EGR sensor itself is to unplug the electrical connector...again, driveabiliy should not suffer but the ECM is going to find the changes regardless. It is quite difficult to fool it when it comes to emissions.
