It's easy to block off the EGR valve. Just use the gasket on it as a template and cut a piece of thin metal (aluminum or sheet) that same size. Drill the appropriate holes in it to match the gasket for the bolts and place it in between the valve and the EGR tube. Of course this tells the ECM that there is INSUFFICIENT EGR flow and the MIL light may come on. If the sensor isn't disconnected at this point the computer will direct the EGR valve to be opened more and more. More than one trouble code could be set but they would ALL be emissions related. Driveability won't be adversely affected on the 2.3L. The only way to "block" off the EGR sensor itself is to unplug the electrical connector...again, driveabiliy should not suffer but the ECM is going to find the changes regardless. It is quite difficult to fool it when it comes to emissions.

The crankshaft sensor shold be on the engine block about midway on the back side.
It should be on the side of the engine block over by the starter.
There are two of them located in the block under the intake manifold.
Passenger side of engine block.
You will have to remove starter, It is behind the starter in the block.
Passenger's side of engine block.
Back of the block, drivers side, close to the head
Found it, located on right side of block.
It's located behind the crankshaft pulley bolted to the engine block.
It is threaded into the block, under the intake manifold.
The crank sensor will be located iether behind the harmonic balancer or right on the side of the engine block
