This will get messy, unfortunately. The good news is that you don't have to divorce because you were never married. The bad news is that your child will suffer from a broken home. Unless this guy is abusive, you should do whatever possible to stay together, get married and be a family for your child's sake. Don't give up now. More bad news, he will not walk away happy (they never do when there is a child involved). You will need to prepare to fight for your child and it is always ugly. In a perfect world of break-ups, the people lovingly give each other everything they want and you both walk away. You know this will not happen and there really is no civil way to break up. Im in agreement with the previous post.
