One should have a standard certified temperature calibrator system before attempting to calibrate a temp. transmitter.
I believe you want to calibrate the temperature sensor connected to a transmitter and to an indicator. There are three things in all. Temp. sensor it could be RTD or TC. Temp transmitter which transmits the sensor input to the indicator on which one can read the temperature. All three can be calibrated separately or together. If together it can be called loop check.
Now to calibrate the transmitter know the range the transmitter and the output signal it is designed for. Say it is designed for 4-20 mAmp signal output and the range is 50'C to 200'C. It means the transmitter is supposed to give 4 ma output when it is measuring 50 'C and 20 ma when it is measuring 200 'C and be liner through out the range. Connect the transmitter to standard 4-20 ma meter. connect the standard resistance equivalent of 50'C in steps of 50'C. Measure the map signal with each step of 50'C equivalent of resistance connected. with increase in step the mamp must increase correspondingly linearly upto 200'C on the meter. Repeat the same in decreasing order in steps from 200'c to 50'C and measure the mamp. Adjust the potentiometer if any on the transmitter in case of deviation. Let the transmitter be with in its defined permissible error range while adjusting the transmitter
The thermocouple validation procedure is widely used for all furnaces and also in heating equipment. Thermocouples are non-adjustable measuring devices, so we cannot calibrate them. However, we can validate functioning for a range of temperature through using a thermocouple calibration bath.
Put the thermometer in mouth in the off position for 1 minute, then turn it on, for a correct temperature.

The three types of thermometer are oral, rectal and tympanic. The most reliable is the rectal thermometer.

You can read the temp a lot easier.
The end points are ice which is zero celsius, and boiling water which is 100 celsius. Divide the distance between into 100 equal degrees.
Oxygen levels in the water can be measured using oxygen probes which are often connected to a data logger. Rainfalls can be measured using a rain gauge. Temperature can be measured with an ordinary thermometer or a digital thermometer. The advantage of the digital thermometer is that nobody has to be there when it is getting measured.

It is not possible to measure the room temperature with a thermometer. A digital oral thermometer will not work to measure the room temperature. It is meant to measure human temperature, not room temperature. You will need a room thermometer to measure the room temperature.
The tastes differ. An oral thermometer has a longer slender end that's inserted (into the mouth), compared to a rectal thermometer that has a short bulbous end inserted (into the rectum). The bulb reduces the chance of tearing the rectal wall, especially in infants. Some digital models have a setting for rectal vs. oral on the unit. The rectal temperature is known to be a little warmer and more accurate to body temperature. If you still have a glass and Mercury thermometer, be aware that mercury is a deadly toxin, and consider replacing the thermometer with a digital model.

The fixed error on a non-digital thermometer is 0.5oC. The percentage error is worked out by dividing 50 by the reading you have taken from the thermometer.

use a reference digital thermometer with a probe that can measure 1800C. actually use 5 probes to measure the different areas inside the chamber...measure then compute for the uncertainties....
