- Have sufficient room for your guinea pig to roam. (a.k.a. right sized cage.)
- Feed them the proper diet. (They can't produce their own vitamin c like us so they need lots of veggies)
- Are guinea pigs right for you? consider - Can you commit to it throughout its' life? Can you care for it properly? Do you have the money to look after the guinea pig? (what if it had to go to the vet? (guinea pigs can easily get sick if not properly looked after.))
- Entertain them!! Provide toys - tubes, houses or even another guinea pig! (another guinea pig is recommended because they can get quite sad on their own and if they have a friend to play with then their true personality comes out!)
