The best bet to get all the old fluid out of the torque converter and all the lines is to go to a shop. Most places have the fluid pressure system that pushes new fluid through the system and forces all the old stuff out.
If you don't want to do that then the other option is to drop the pan and drain it. Add new fluid then drive it a bit. Then repeat the process a couple of times. This is usually very time consuming, not as efficient, and not really a money saver in the long run.
