1. 1.Unscrew windshield wiper bolt (1 screw - 10mm). Remove hose from bottom. Place to side
2. 2. Remove black canister to the left of the washer fluid (3 screws - 10mm). Place to the side
3. 3. Unscrew the transmission module. (2 screws - 10mm). One on light bracket and one below. You will need long extension to remove bottom bolt. Remove
4. 4. There are 3 PCM screws. I used a 8mm socket on bottom and top left. I used a 5/16 wrench on top right screw. Remove
5. 6. To put back, reverse instructions.
6.
I It was easier than I thought. Took about 30 minutes. Thanks to my queen who helped.
The PCM, engine computer, controls the fuel system.
I would like to think that a PCM will never diregard the input from the knock sensor. it is a critical piece of information that the PCM needs to calculate various bits of information. Not to mention with this information, during detonation, the PCM can save you from burning a whole in a piston, by removing timing advance. The PCM disregards the knock sensor input on a 2002 Chrysler 300M during idle. Once the engine speed exceeds a specified value, the PCM will receive input from it and knock retard or advance will be allowed. Knock retard uses it own short and long term memory programs allowing this to happen.
Ran out of gas, failed alternator, crank sensor, cam sensor, PCM, timing belt, ignition coil, fuel pump, broken wiring,
The cruise control is fed by the pcm. If the car starts there isn't a blown fuse.
The light comes on when there is an emissions related failure and the pcm sets a code.
I believe all the PCM's from 1998 or 1999 and newer are all generic modules. You get them with no software in them. They must be programmed. The majority of Chrysler PCM's are going to this because of cost.
get a pcm tune. you can either have someone with a tuner do it or but a mail order pcm from overkill, dhp, zzp, etc.
A pcm is programmed with a flash capable scan tool.
the PCM .is behind the battery under the hood.
sounds like you have a faulty crank position sensor. check pcm for trouble codes.
The engine computer (PCM) is the regulator, so you replace it.The engine computer (PCM) is the regulator, so you replace it.
The 1999 Dodge Stratus PCM valve can be found on the outside of the air cleaner housing. The PCM valve is located on the back of the housing.
