The resistor is located behind the glove box.
1) Remove the 2 glove box latck sctews.
2) Remove the 4 screws holding the glove box, 2 on the tow and 2 on the bottom.
3)With the glove box removed, you will see the resistor located below the blower motor. Un plug, remove the 2 screws, and replace with new.

There is a clip that is depressed and then the resistor will slide out. Remove both ends of the resistor and then replace with the new resistor.

A bad blower resistor will not make a vibrating noise by itself. Carefully remove the blower resistor (under the dash at the passenger side right foot area.) check to see that it is not hitting the fan. PS a bad blower resistor usually means that the blower will only operate at high speed. Usually a small fusible link on the resistor ceramic opens. Can be replaced with a small link of unmelted solder.
You can find the 2004 Nissan Maxima blower motor relay switch beneath the passenger side dashboard. The blower motor relay switch will be behind the glove compartment.
