I have a 1988 corvette I need to change the headlight motor but cant get the motor free from the body This answer is a question.
try all American classics in Vancouver, Washington they had all the parts i needed for my firebird so im sure they will have that there. here is the website http://www.allamericanclassics.com/
The starter on a 2001 Pontiac Trans Am is located on the driver's side of the motor. It is down low towards the back of the motor.
Buy a motor manual with one in it.
3.4l or 3400 v6
Under dash on passenger side
There's a plastic gear inside the headlight motor that becomes stripped, which causes the grinding noise. You can either buy an aftermarket metal one (an internet search will turn up some good sites) or use pieces from a kit for power windows. I brought the idea up to my mechanic and he had it done in less than a day for about $110. You can buy a refurbished headlight motor $180. I tried replacing the gears in my headlight motor, but after a while, the gear ended up stripped again. I recommended replacing the motor. Go to YouTube and type in 4th gen firebird trans am headlight fix. Easy 10 minute adjustment at no cost. Mine ground really bad, thought I had to replace the gears.
your motor needs to be replaced,or it could just be the module on the motor.
YES,BUT YOU WILL HAVE TO CHECK MOTOR MOUNT LOCATIONS AND CHANGE AS NESESSARY. ALSO YOU WILL HAVE CHANGE DRIVESHAFTS ALONG WITH ALL NESSESARY LINKAGE AND OF COURSE THE CLUTCH PEDAL.

Copy and paste this link into your browser. http://www.bfranker.badz28.com/headlightfix/ It will give you all the info you need for replacing the headlight motor. I would suggest purchasing the CNC milled metal gear, as the gear that comes stock with the headlight motor is nylon and has a tendency to get stripped.
