Disconnect the ground cable from the battery. Straighten out a paper clip and insert it into the small release hole on lock cylinder. Turn the key to the start position and you will need to wiggle and pull on key till the lock cylinder releases. Sometimes it is easier to remove the entire switch and work on it as the lock cylinders can be stubborn to remove even for someone who has done it alot.
