Microsoft Office 2010 supports to save word to pdf directly, as the "save as PDF/XPS" add-in is built-in the Office Suite, and it's easy for you to change your word document to pdf, open the file -> go to share -> click to create PDF/XPS document, don't need to download the add-in from Microsoft.
