Note: there may also be a 'friction clip' or two holding the lens - gently tug on the lens to release
These steps are detailed, and illustrated in the Owners Manual (see "Related Questions")
I have had to replace both rear tail lights on my 2005 Ford Freestar. You have to open the back and take the screws out of the casing around the lens... there is three if I'm remembering correctly. pull it from the frame. (there are no screws on the outside it just pulls out straight. Have someone hit the brakes before you do this to know which one is out. I went to an autoparts store and had them find the bulbs for me but I installed them myself. you pull it straight out... there is not turning.. just wiggle it side to side and it will come out.
I need to change the rear driver side tail signal . I do not know how to get at the bulbs . Do I have to take the whole inside panel off?
change the light bulb,
If only the right rear brake/signal light is effected it is not the fuse. Inspect the right rear brake/signal bulb, socket and wiring.
If you have the same bulb for brake and signal, brake light power needs to be interrupted by the signal lights, The brake circuit has to go through the signal light switch so the problem could be there.
In many cases, the brake light and the turn signal use the same bulb.
most likely a bulb b/c if it was the fuse your other brake and signal light wouldn't work... most vehicles the brake and signal light are all in one bulb... try replacing the light bulb
what do you have to do to change the center brake light
short circuits in the turn signal and brake light circuits
possibly have a brake light out
i have conected the black and red wire to the brake and it works (the brake light that is) and i conected the blue and white to the signal lights each wire being left and right signal and it all works. but when i brake all of the light lights up the red bar for the brake and the orage bars left and right when i signal left or right whiles braking the signal works but the other signal light sticks on with the brake light. so if any one as any idears please let me know thanks
GET INTO THE TRUNK AND PULL DOWN THE CARPETING BY THE SIGNAL AND YOU WILL SEE THE BULBS JUST REMOVE AND REPLACE
WHICH brake light?
