The brake light fuse is in the fuse panel below the dash on the left side of steering column.

Open the hatch, there are 2 screws holding the entire light assembly on each side of the vehicle. Take the screws out and lift the assembly away from the car outwards, there is a post on the front end holding it onto the side of the car. Then just twist the brake light socket to the left and pull it out to get to the bulb.
It is in the side compartment of the cargo area.
The drivers side is always considered to be the left side of any vehicle.
Near the Driver Side Kick Panel
Remove the 3 nuts from behind the light housing in the trunk. Gently work housing free. You only need to change the bulbs that are dead.
uncase, unscrew old bulb, screw in new bulb, put case back on

The trunk light fuse on a 2003 Hyundai Elantra is located in the fuse box in the interior of the vehicle. It is on the driver's side. Look for the fuse for the dome light if the trunk light is not noted.
lower tailgate unscrew two screws in the side remove tail light lens remove the 3157 bulb replace using dialectic grease on terminals reverse assembly.
