There is no clutch cable in 93 Mercury Capri. Its operated by hydraulics. There is a clutch slave cylinder and master cylinder. the seal in it probably worn out. Not very hard to work with.
slave cylinder locationin the Mercury mystique the slave cylinder is located in the transmission. it is connected to the release bearing. the onbly way to change the slave cylinder in this perticular car is to pull the transmission. stupid desing but its a ford so this kind of briliant thinking is expected..lol
How do you change a slave cylinder on a 1995 Mazda B2300 2wd?
NO
no none of the answers were my question
buy a new car or get a mechanic to look at it. It sounds as if your clutch master cylinder is going bad or it could be the clutch slave cylinder.
The slave cylinder is on the input shaft of the transmission at the throw out bearing. The transmission will have to be removed to change it.
Yes
The slave cylinder is INSIDE the transmission bellhousing , it slides over the transmission input shaft , and then is bolted to the transmission. To change the slave cylinder the transmission has to be removed , but the slave cylinder line can be blead from the bleeder outside of the transmission bellhousing
very carefully
i think you have to change the master and the slave cly as i think ther'e one unit
You should always replace them at the same time, but basically you bench bleed your master cylinder. Install it then remove the slave by the two bolts attaching it to the bottom of the trans. Place new slave cylinder in and let the fluid gravity bleed through the bleeder screw on the slave cylinder after mostly fluid comes out pump the clutch a few times and have some one hold the clutch pedal down and open the bleeder 1/2 turn then close it then pump the pedal again and hold the pedal open the bleeder screw 1/2 turn. repeat this until the clutch is firm. on this particular car it is very easy you should only have to bleed it 2 or 3 times if you do it properly. but the slave is a bear to get at and is best gotten to on a lift with the cross-member removed good luck
