You have to take off the air intake cover and wires from a sensor located in a elbow like joint for air intake assembly, plus 2 bolts at the top . Unscrew the clamps. Now there are 2 ground connectors/bolts on the front of the starter, remove those too. starter are hanged with 2 bolts, one 18mm at the top and the bottom one is 15mm remove those and free it comes.

Changing the starter on my 93 with a 7.5 was pretty straight forward. However you will probably need a long extention and a universal for your socket set to get around the exhaust pipes coming down from the exhaust manifold. If your having an intermittent starter solenoid sticking, make sure to check and see if it is the starter relay up near the battery, it is a separate relay located near the battery and not the starter.
The 1998 Ford Escort starter motor is located on the rear of the engine. The starter motor will be on the right hand side, near the bottom of the motor.
It is wise to know the cost of replacing car parts before owning a car. The Ford KA starter motor should cost between $150 and $400.
The starter can be seen under the intake piping. Remove the pipe from the throttle body, and then you'll see the starter. You should be able to trace the negative battery cable to it. It has three bolts and can require much finesse to remove once unbolted.

On my 1995 Ford Explorer , as far as I know , the starter solenoid is mounted on the starter and the starter relay ( which most people just refer to as the solenoid ) is mounted near my battery and has the positive battery cable connected to it ( a relay is a low voltage switch ) P.S. I'm not a mechanic / technician
i cannot get the wheel off the blower motor
it is located under the engine on the right side of the engine. crawl under the right front wheel and you will see the starter motor and the associated wiring.
The starter is on the side of the engine at the bottom.

the solenoid on that year ford starter is on top of the starter itself. that starter is used on a wide variety of ford products.

where is the fluid drain plug in a 1944 ford E350 rv motor home with an automatic trainsmission
the starter motor on just about any engine is very close to the crankshaft. the easiest way to find it is to follow the wires of the ignition system (usually yellow, sometimes black, it depends) the ignition system is directly connected to the starter.
probably a 460 7.5L v8
