You have to take off the air intake cover and wires from a sensor located in a elbow like joint for air intake assembly, plus 2 bolts at the top . Unscrew the clamps. Now there are 2 ground connectors/bolts on the front of the starter, remove those too. starter are hanged with 2 bolts, one 18mm at the top and the bottom one is 15mm remove those and free it comes.

∙ 15y agoChanging the starter on my 93 with a 7.5 was pretty straight forward. However you will probably need a long extention and a universal for your socket set to get around the exhaust pipes coming down from the exhaust manifold. If your having an intermittent starter solenoid sticking, make sure to check and see if it is the starter relay up near the battery, it is a separate relay located near the battery and not the starter.
