Wow, if you've already hit 90,000 miles on an '06 you spend a lot of time in the seat!
Obviously the best way to change a timing belt, if your wallet can stand it, is to hand the car off to a professional then pick it up the next day, ready to go again.
Changing the belt yourself requires far too many individual (though not complicated) steps for a forum like this. You should download the factory service manual from Toyota or purchase a Haynes or Chilton manual. The Toyota book is only $10 in .pdf format. You can probably also get one from your Toyota dealer though as a book it'll cost more. The Haynes and Chilton manuals are available at many auto supply stores or check Amazon.com. A major upside of having a manual is you'll also have pictures.
Cheers

I asked someone at Lancaster Toyota in Lancaster PA about when to change the timing belt in my 2006 Corolla, and at first he said 90,000 miles, then paused, looked it up, and said that the 2006 Corolla has a timing chain, so it will not have to be changed.Since I drive a 2006 Corolla, I intend to corroborate that, since I have a lot at stake. But, I thought I would share this preliminary data.I also just called Bobby Rahal Toyota and they told me it has a non-serviceable chain for the timing belt. I have a Toyota Corolla 2006.
