you have raise car to gain access from underneath. next you will have to remove the black plastic splash shield so you can see the idler pulley. then you loosen the bolt in the center of the pulley. there is a downward facing bolt behind the pulley that sets the tension of the belt, loosen bolt enough to remove belt. after installing the new belt reverse procedure & don't forget to tighten the center pulley bolt, this is what keeps the pulley from moving.
94 Quest doesn't have a serpentine belt, just three belts for alt, AC and water pump.
Depends on the year, but AC, and water pump belts each have a tensioner. Alt has one built into the alt, underneath the van.
you may need to change or adujst the alt belt.

first remove the negative terminal of the battery, unplug the smart charge plug from the alt, remove the main power cable from alt, remove the o/s headlamp remove the expansion bottle pipe and move out of the way.use a 13mm spanner on the tensioner push down to release tension on alt belt take note of routing of belt and remove belt, next use a 17mm socket to remove the lower rear alt bolt, remove the top idler, remove the top alt bolt, loosen the lower idler supporting the alt you should now be ready to take the alt out,
anywhere on the belt most likely close to the alt.
in back of the alt you can fill it but can not see it take alt out of way to get to it
Its kinda hard and takes some time.. dont knwo the specifics but i did it and you have to take off the belt that goes to the alt by losening the tensioner pulley i think its an 8 or 10 mm then disconnect the batter neg cable (black) and undo all wiring from alt. then remove hold down bolts and re-verse procedure to install, might be a good time to change alt belt too and make sure its tight but not too tight, about 1/4 inch play when pushing down on it
the only belt with a tensioner is the timing belt, to tighten the alt belt loosen the adjustment bolt then tap the alt back then retighten the bolt
Remove the pos. on the battery. Have the tools on hand. The alt. is right on top. Use a ratchet to slack the belt. There is a square slot on the belt tensioner. Disconnect the wire harness. Un-bolt alt. that's it. Job takes about 15 minutes.
Disconnect bat. Remove wires from back of alt. If serpentine, pull on idler(s) to release belt tension & remove belt. if not, Loosen alt bolt on top & swing to side to remove belt, Remove bolts 6 & 12 o' clock & remove. reverse to install. have fun:)
It is right by the AC/ALt belt area. Rather easy to spot, you will hear it make noise if you cut the wheel to either left or right.
