Take a small fish hook and bend it straight and you can ususlly work it in between the broken key and the hook barb on the end will usually pull the broken key out. If the hook breaks when you straighten it out you may have to heat the bend to anneal the hook. Give this a try and nothing ventured nothing gained. I hope this helps you

It is located over the front head to get to it both sides of the fairings has to be removed and the battery box. Its a pain
To remove the keyed ignition on a 95 Yamaha Virago 1100, kindly refer to your user manual.
You unhook the two wires that lead from the ignition to the electrical.
When I removed mine on my 1996 seca I pulled off the top triple where the handlebars mount. Then drill a whole in the shear head bolts that secure the ignition to the bike and use an easy out bolt and screw extractor to remove the bolts.

Take off the seat (by turning your key in the ignition way to the left), and the battery is right there. You then disconnect the 2 cables (positive and negative), remove the rubber strap holding it in there, and then you simply pull the battery out.
Yamaha r1 will beat anything off the line
The Yamaha 250 series of motorcycles has the oil filter on the right hand side of the motor, and between the two cylinders. There will be plate with three screws that says "Yamaha" on it. Once the cover is removed you will have access to the oil filter which can be removed and replaced manually.
