In the process of doing this very thing today. Saw the question and thought I'd add my 2 cents.
Due to the Crossmembers and Framing of The 4X4 Bronco, You will need to have access to a cherry picker also known as an engine hoist. Because the engine needs to be lifted up to gain access to enable you to remove the Oil Pan. So, yes this would include working with your motor mounts, various wiring harnesses, hoses, lines, being careful not to kink or crimp anything in the process.
If you dont feel comfortable taking this on, be sure to employ a professional or perhaps a buddy who is knowledgeable and trustworthy.
Either way, if you do it or have someone else do it, and considering that the vehicle is 20 years old. I highly suggest that since you'll have the lower end opened and accessible, it is advisable to replace all of the following.
Oil Pump, Oil Pump Intermediate Shaft, Oil Pump Screen Assembly, Oil Pressure Switch {aka: oil sending unit gauge}, Oil Pan Gasket and Oil Filter. You will also need approximately 5 to 6 quarts of oil. I would suggest using Royal Purple as well as a bottle of Prolong, Engine Oil Treatment.
Contact NAPA, I'm serious all of the parts I've just listed only cost me about $100.00
After refastening every nut and bolt, double checking that all wire connections and hoses are attached and engine is lowered and re-mounted, I wish you well.
Happy Motoring.
you first have to disconnect the motor mounts then the transmission mount. then you need to jack the motor up and put in wooden block by the motor mounts then you will be able to remove the oil pan thus then you will be able to change the oil pump remember to use a new oil pan gasket and check the condition of the oil pan if it is rusted now is the time to replace it
how do I replace a fuel pump on a 1993 Ford Bronco 302 5.0 L
On a 1992 Ford Bronco : The electric fuel pump is INSIDE the fuel tank
If it is the same as the ( 1996 ) Ford Bronco : ( Relay # 2 is the fuel pump relay )
The fuel pump is located in the tank
In the gas tank
timing cover, it bolts to the block and covers the timing chain and gears, then the water pump bolts to it.
On a 1996 Ford Bronco : The ELECTRIC fuel pump is INSIDE the fuel tank * it is installed through an access hole in the top of the tank
If it is the same as the ( 1996 ) Ford Bronco : In the Power Distribution Box ( which is " live " ) located in the engine compartment ( Relay # 2 is the fuel pump relay )
The oil pump is bolted to the bottom of the engine , inside the oil pan
No, it is a manual fuel pump mounted on the engine block.
The oil pump is bolted to the bottom of the engine , inside the oil pan
A 1976 Ford Bronco would still have a carburetor for the engine , so it does not have a fuel pump shut off switch ( inertia switch ) like the Ford fuel injected engines do ( that use an electric fuel pump ) * if that is what you mean
