Take your car to the dealer or body shop.
The bulbs can be replaced for the radio and heater controls on a 2000 Windstar SE by removing the plate over the heater controls. Some models need an Allen wrench for this and some models will need a Star wrench to remove the screws holding this plate on.
In a 97-03, the bulbs are soldered into the circuit board of the heater controls. Remove the heater control assembly and disassemble it to the board. Desolder the bulbs and replace with new ones from either radio shack or corvetteradios.com. The bulbs are 12v but I don't know the wattage. CorvetteRadios has bulbs for the CD player as well which are similarly soldered into the circuit board on the face plate.
pull the front facia off the heater dials then you find a white box which is to operate the heater dials remove the front from there which is clipped on then there are your bulbs
The best place to get bulbs for behind the heater controls on a 2000 diesel Grand Vitara is directly from the manufacturer. An order can also be placed through a local dealer or auto parts store.
Air condition model quite easy . 1. remove complete unit by putting two thin cards at eath side of heater controls to unclip 2. Remove two screws at rear and replace bulbs .
I replaced mine a couple months ago and you do not need to take the whole dash apart. Pretty simple process. Remove the ashtray and take out the black trim that surrounds the heater controls and radio. Pulls off hard but does come off. Check online about how to remove the stereo. The knobs for the heater assembly pull off and then there are a couple screws to remove. This should expose the heater ac assembly. If I remember correctly the are 2 screws that remove the face plate of the assembly and then replace the light bulbs behind the face plate. They do have little green sleeves that cover the bulbs that roll off and can be put back on the new bulbs. Good luck. Estimated time 30 min at most.
To change the light bulb for the heater control on the 2006 Tahoe, you will either need to replace the entire climate control panel or remove and re-solder the bulbs. You can remove the bulbs by first removing the dashboard bezel and then the dash itself. Access the bulbs and pull them out of the control panel. Solder new bulbs into the panel.?æ
