It depends on the year, and whether it's 2WD or 4WD. I suggest entering your question again with the year. People have posted answers for specific year models. All Ford Rangers from 1993 to 1997 have "I-beam" front suspensions as opposed to the upper and lower control arms that most vehicles have. ∙ 9y agoRemove the tire and wheel. Remove the ball joint retaining nut. Pound the ball joint out with a hammer. Reverse the process to install the new ball joint.
