The clutch does come off but not without special tools. You will need a special tool to pull and install the front disc. The air gap is adjusted as you install the front disc, .015 to .020 if memory serves me right.
You cannot change the compressor bearing, however, you can change the clutch bearing. Which one is bad? Is there a noise when the clutch is engaged, or not engaged?
You have a cycling clutch compressor. Turn the AC on max, let the car for five minutes or so, go look at the compressor. You should see the clutch engaging and disengaging the compressor as the pressure builds and drops.
The cycle switch not engaging the Compressors clutch
my ac compressor is bad and i want to change it myself how can i do this
compressor maybe sticking which doesn't filter freon through the system
the Clutch is not fully disengaged. compressor might need to be replaced. I would bring it to the shop. Look at the Compressor and if u notice shavings then it has done its duty. If you do not want the AC anymore and want a cheap fix. Just go to a AC shop and get them to remove the clutch. the Clutch is not fully disengaged. compressor might need to be replaced.
