Place the Trailblazer on jackstands under the frame, remove the tire, open the hood and remove the upper retaining nuts that hold the Strut to the inner fender well. Under no cirumstances remove the larger nut in the center that goes to the Strut shaft.

Remove the nut holding the lower strut mount nut, the mount is a curved arm that comes off the lower end of the strut to the lower A-arm. Place a floor jack under the A-arm and relieve the tension.

Use a Pitman arm removal tool, place around the mount of the lower strut mount and it will release the arm from the bolt, (optional) you can take a brass or rubber mallet and strike the arm which in some cases will pop it off.

Release the tension on the A-arm and lower the strut assembly out of the fenderwell. Either take it to a shop to have the spring removed or rent a spring compressor for Struts specifically and compress the spring yourself, under no circumstaces remove the center nut at the top of the strut unless you have the spring compressed.

Installation is reversed... It is recommended that you have the alignment checked after having the strut replaced. Also I would recommend you purchase either a Chilton or Haynes repair manual as it will help you with most repairs.
