It would be best if you got the Chilton's manual for your car. This is a fairly complicated task on the 3.1. Not at all impossible, but you have to mess with a lot of things. You'll need to take off the throttle body. Remove the alternator and power steering pump, unbolt the upper plenum. Remove the fuel lines, fuel rail and injectors. Remove valve covers and loosen rocker arms. The push rods go through the gasket and will need to be removed to R & R the lower intake gasket. Keep the push rods in order as they are different lengths for intake and exhaust. Remove lower intake manifold bolts. Reverse the procedure to install.
jaguar 2001 Lower Engine Intake Manifold Gasket
you will have to unbolt the exhaust pipe from the manifold pipe and then you unbolt the manifold pipe from the engine, remove old gasket and make sure both sides are clean of the old gasket and then install new gasket and bolt manifold back onto engine.
The manifold gasket is the same as the plenum gasket. The manifold gasket is a barrier between the manifold and the engine block.
What engine? and ensure it is a bad gasket, not an intake plentum.
5 to 7 depending on experience.
The year, engine size and if it is the intake manifold or an exhaust manifold gaskets would help.
Remove the manifold and change the gasket. And voila!!!

Yes. Major job, not for the inexperienced novice.
