This my friend can be a very challenging job. I suggest that you just take a bullet to the wallet and let a professional mechanic handle this task for you.
theres no way you can change the head gaskets without taking off the intake manifold, its not hard to do. plus if your going to change the head gaskets it would only be smart to change the intake gaskets also.Answerand if your talking about the exhaust manifold, you did'NT specify, I'm sure you can but it will be no fun at all, plus u should change exhaust gaskets if your going to do all that work anyways so you don't have to worry about them down the road.
The year, engine size and if it is the intake manifold or an exhaust manifold gaskets would help.
To change the exhaust manifold on a Mitsubishi Mirage, first, ensure the engine is cool and disconnect the battery. Remove any components obstructing access, such as the intake manifold or heat shield. Unbolt the exhaust manifold from the engine block and disconnect the exhaust pipes, taking care to replace any gaskets. Finally, install the new manifold in reverse order, ensuring all bolts are tightened to the manufacturer's specifications.
You will need a new set of head gaskets, exhaust manifold gaskets, intake manifold gasket, new thermostat, 2 gallons of antifreeze, 2 gallons of distilled water, and any hose that may need replacing.
To change exhaust gaskets, first, ensure the engine is cool and disconnect the battery. Remove the exhaust manifold or header by loosening the bolts and carefully lifting it away from the engine block. Clean the surfaces to remove old gasket material, then place the new gasket in position and reattach the manifold, tightening the bolts to the manufacturer’s specifications. Finally, reconnect the battery and check for leaks after starting the engine.
What engine???????? You should refer to repair manual if not familiar with auto repair and understand the terminology before attempting Remove nuts holding exhaust manifold to cylinder head & remove nuts/bolts holding exhaust manifold to exhaust pipes Use new exhaust manifold gaskets and install the new manifold securing the manifold to cylinder head (may need to but new nuts and or bolts) by "snugly" tightening manifold to cylinder head if not refering to repair manual
To change the exhaust manifold on a 2001 Oldsmobile, first, disconnect the battery and remove any components obstructing access to the manifold, such as the intake or engine covers. Then, detach the exhaust pipes and unbolt the manifold from the cylinder head while ensuring you have a proper gasket for reinstallation. Replace the old manifold with the new one, reattach the exhaust pipes, and reconnect any components you previously removed. Finally, reconnect the battery and check for any exhaust leaks.
To change the exhaust manifold on a 2005 Nissan Titan, first ensure the engine is cool and disconnect the battery. Remove any necessary components obstructing access, such as the heat shield, intake manifold, and exhaust pipes. Unbolt the old manifold from the cylinder head, clean the mating surfaces, and install the new manifold with new gaskets. Finally, reassemble all removed components and reconnect the battery.
It is the Intake Manifold Gaskets FYIilikebananas
Remove the intake & exhaust manifold. Then remove the head. Have the head inspected for cracks & warpage. Reinstall everything with new gaskets.
Remove the intake manifold, remove the exhaust manifold, then remove the heads. Replace the gasket and reinstall everything. Unless you know what you are doing this is a major repair best left to a professional.
if the engine is a 2,4 liter, and if your replaceing the manifold gaskets, the manifold has 8 13mm bolts you need to remove, and also you need to drop the pipe, remove the 3 13mm bolts that connect to the rear pipe, then remove the four 15mm bolts that connect to the manifold, then you can remove the exhaust manifold, dont forget to remove the heat shield on top on the exhaust manifold 3 10mm bolts and one more item unplug the 02 sensor, you should be able to pull the manifold up and out of the way if your replaceing the gaskets, i just pulled the manifold off and up and bungy'd it up out of the way to clean the ports.
