usually this will entail changing your oil as well even though you don't have to. if you can locate it you're already on your way there. it is underneath your engine next to the oil pan. make sure your truck hasn't run for a couple hours to ensure you're not dealing with hot exhaust pipes and oil. get a drip pan to catch whatever oil is above the and in the oil filter. you'll need to jack up your vehicle to get underneath it. position your catch pan directly under the filter. you can use an oil filter wrench to rotate the filter out counter-clockwise from the underneath perspective. if you do not have a oild filter wrench, it will take some coersion but twist it out of there. grab your replacement filter and pour some oil (preferably the type specified on your engine and in your owners manual) in to the filter the majority of the way full. rub some oil on the rubberized gasket at the top of the filter to create a seal. install the filter back into the recepticle and make sure it is tight. check your oil using your dipstick and add if neccessary. good luck
