Run it out of gas and tilt it over and dump the oil out.
Easiest way is to remove the dipstick, tilt machine dipstick tube downward and let it run out into an appropriate container.
Briggs and Stratton...ask if you need help getting it running!
Honda, Yamaha, Craftsman, Troy-Bilt, and Briggs & Stratton are some of the top brands for residential backup generators. Both Honda and Briggs & Stratton scored well with Consumer Reports.
just bought a craftsman snow blower yesterday. 3 manufacturers, MTD, Briggs and Stratton and Husqvarna. was told MTD 357cc was chinese can`t even find a torque # for it, Briggs and Stratton 305cc and 342cc made in USA, they had no Husqvarna so i don`t know about motors. was told Briggs and Stratton were not only making the motors but the whole machine, on the Pro series i bought which has the Briggs motor, if you look on the chassis it says built in the USA. This information i was told at a Sears store. hope its correct.
See link; the OEM part # is a 5.3 OZ. bottle http://www0.shopping.com/xPF-Briggs-Briggs-Stratton-Synthetic-Pressure-Washer-Pump-Oil-5-3-oz-190585GS
It depends on how old this particular mower is, and how large it is! Older and larger ones used to have Tecumseh motors, but tecumseh went out of business. Older and Newer smaller Troy Bilt's have had Briggs & Stratton, for some time, but depending on the durability model and how new it is; It may have a Honda motor.

how do you change the blade from a troy bilt riding mower
Briggs and Sratton 30W oil available at Lowes or Home Depot.
The specs regarding oil for a Troy-Bilt blower can be found by looking in the owners manual. If it isn't around, use the web (www.troybilt.com) and pull up a copy. (You'll need your model number & serial number to view the manual.) It's SAE 30 lubricant, by the way, and the original oil by Briggs & Stratton (the manufacturers of the engine) is available from Sears. (The wise person would call ahead.)
You can change the oil on troy bilt self propelled mowers by making sure, first of all, that the engine is turned off. Remove the oil and replace it with fresh oil.
Just checked their website and it seems most of there larger engines (riding tractors, snow-throwers) are Briggs & Stratton. That doesn't mean some smaller or older models aren't equipped with Tecumseh or even Kohler engines. Personally, I trust all these names and believe any well-serviced, American-designed, small engine should last you years without problems.
