Jack up the body in front of the rear wheels or use a lift. Remove the rear wheels. Put a jack under the rear axle. Unbolt the bottom of the shocks. Be sure the brake lines do not stretch too far as you lower the axle. You may need to remove a few clips to avoid breaking the lines. I needed to put the jack between the axle and the body to push the axle down far enough. Remove the springs and take them out through the wheel wells. Reverse the process.

How do I install rear coil springs on a 1996 Camaro?
We are in the middle of having it done to our 2000 Ford Taurus. The dealership gave us an estimate of $365.00 to change rear coil springs only. An independent shop that we trust told us they believe you should also change the rear struts in conjunction with changing the rear coil springs. He is charging us $419.00 to do all (we live in Michigan).
