un-do the 2 x caliper bolts
take caliper off
take springs and shims off the original break pads as they might be needed for the new set..
refit and done

A 1996 camaro has the same DISK brakes as a 2001. It does not have drum brakes.
My olds has 4 wheel disc brakes, and I had to buy a kit to change the rear pads. I'm not 100% sure about the pontiac, but Most GM rear calipers actually Screw back, unlike the front calipers, which merely push straight back. I got the kit at harbor frieght for around $40.
